Temperance
“Temperance is almost invariably depicted as a person pouring liquid from one receptacle into another… and stands with one foot on water and one foot on land. In addition to its literal meaning of temperance or moderation, the Temperance card is often interpreted as symbolizing the blending or synthesis of opposites. It is also commonly associated with the letter ס. In other interpretations the card may serve as a reminder that a compromise between two seemingly incompatible options is often the best option. Temperance stands between Death and The Devil. Temperance is the remixing of life, accepting the dead into the underworld, into the blessed lands, and deciding what to send back into the fray. Some Jungians say that Temperance represents the unconscious, which can guide us, they contend, to a deeper understanding of ourselves. The one foot on the land, the other in the water, represents the unification of the external and internal, conscious and unconscious, realms. Under these approaches, when Temperance appears, it is a warning or invitation to be prepared for a confrontation with the deepest questions of who we are, who we think we are, and who we will become.”
Like the Hierophant, this card is a harder to decipher than most. On the surface level, this is of course a play on the duality theme that is present within the Temperance card, wherein two things that seem incompatible inevitably blend into one, but it too brings a bit of foreshadowing, particuarly in regards to the nature of the card’s placement on “the journey”. Placed directly between Death and The Devil, Temperance can be used to represent the “underworld”, as it’s judge, the place, or merely the means of transport. If we take that to it’s literal function, like a River of Styx allegory, than Sollux himself would represent the link between the living world and the Dreambubbles. This might be the result of his powers as a player of Doom: when he dies, he doesn’t die, as the foreboding presence of Death must always hang over him.

Nope, I haven’t forgotten about the requests from ages ago, nor given up on them. They just refuse to cooperate and don’t want to evolve past the wip stage, those meanies.
I thought long about the way Rose <3 Sollux might work in my head and this is what I came up with. Sometimes, when she knits new sweaters for him, he sits next to her and starts sharing his prophecies of doom. Sometimes, when he’s coding, she comes to him and whispers in his ear in a dreamy voice, listing all his doomed prophecies and how could her luck and seer powers turn each and every one of those around. He listens with closed eyes for a while and then returns to his coding, her calming whispers of doom and luck rustling in his ears.
